Product Development

We work with you to create plastic components based on concept, function, geometrical and/or dimensional product briefs. Input can vary from rough concept to exact existing part (which can be scanned and reverse engineered). Prototypes can then be created and refined, and final three dimensional designs are created. With significant experience and expertise in the plastic injection moulding industry, we are able to convert your idea into reality.

Product Design

Our design team is the backbone of our operations. Our team of expert designers collaborates with our Customers to understand their requirements and to give shape to it. Our emphasis is on design for manufacturability in order to deliver true value and. Supported by advanced CAD tools (Siemens NX and Autodesk Powershape), our designers create three dimensional models of products which are then processed further into prototypes or, after customer approval, into moulds. Our designers undergo constant training in order to create mould designs conforming to current international standards. We have also deployed powerful CAM software (Siemens NX and Autodesk PowerMill) to complement our CAD infrastructure.

Rapid Prototyping

Using three dimensional CAD data, we create physical samples by additive manufacturing processes (3D Printing/Sintering) which can have significant cost and time advantages over usual subtraction or material removal processes. These prototypes can be used for Design Validation & Verification, Functional Testing, Product Visualization, Market/Client Input, etc.

Mould Making

The ultimate quality of any plastic mould is dependent not only upon design and infrastructure, but also upon the skill of the toolmakers. We have a team of extremely skilled and experienced machine operators, CAM programmers and mould makers to machine the mould components, assemble the moulds and test the moulds.Our team uses their experience to machine and manufacture high quality moulds at our world-class tool room, equipped with the latest, state-of-the-art machines from world class manufacturers like DMG Mori Seki (Germany) and Makino (Japan). We produce multi cavity moulds, family moulds, 3 plate moulds, insert moulds, double injection moulds, undercut moulds, unscrew moulds, vertical moulding moulds, hot runner moulds, etc. using scientifically selected high grade, high hardness metals to deliver high quality products. We use superior grade mould bases and accessories from vendors of international repute to ensure that every aspect of the mould delivers accuracy and repeatability in a high production environment.

Metrology

APEPL offers a full range of testing and inspection services, including 3D scanning using Blue Light or LASER scanners to generate point cloud data, CMM Scans, Roughness and Hardness testing, etc. Part comparisons can be done with the CAD data to determine deviations from design.
